Comprehensive Financial Planning
If financial decisions cause you stress and you tend to put off making decisions that you know you should make, you’re not alone.
Today more than ever, Certified Financial Planner™ professionals are an essential resource. From budgeting, to planning for retirement, to saving for education, to managing your taxes and your insurance coverage, “finances” doesn’t mean just one thing for most Americans – and “financial planning” means much more than just investing. Bringing all the pieces of your financial life together is a challenging task. Although many professionals may call themselves “financial planners,” CFP® professionals have completed extensive training and experience requirements and are held to rigorous ethical standards. They understand all the complexities of the changing financial climate and they know how to make recommendations in your best interest.
Investment Management
Build
A well-diversified, cost-efficient portfolio based on your current financial situation and future goals as well as guided by your risk tolerance level. Many times after we have run a comprehensive financial plan it will dictate a change in how your investments are allocated, either because your previous portfolio was too risky or even too conservative.
Manage
The portfolio is rebalanced periodically as needed to make sure your portfolio stays within a predetermined allocation. Take advantage of extreme highs and lows of the markets. Rebalancing can automate a process of buying low and selling high, which in the investment world is how wealth is created. This doesn’t incur any fees to our clients, we make changes to the existing accounts to either reduce risk, enhance return potential, or both. Because we do not earn commissions on trading accounts our clients know we make these changes to help better their financial situation.
Monitor
All of the investments that are held within our client accounts are constantly being monitored to make sure they continue to perform as expected when we first bought them. What if a portfolio manager decides to leave a mutual fund we are invested in? What happens when a fund that has historically performed very well re-opens so that new investments can be made into the fund?
Retirement Planning/Income Planning
After you retire what will your income sources be? How will you draw down your retirement accounts that you have been growing all of your adult life? Will you outlive these income sources or do you have a plan in place to make sure that doesn’t happen? Working with a Certified Financial PlannerTM professional will allow you to rest easy knowing that you have a plan in place so that you can efficiently tap into your income sources for the rest of your life.
Retirement is not a static point in time. It is a potentially decades-long period during which many factors can have a significant impact on your savings and income. Are you prepared? We can help you:
Determine your sources of guaranteed income
Prepare for inflation
Determine your sources of non-guaranteed income
Prepare for tax risk
Prepare for Social Security
Prepare for health care costs
Prepare for longevity risk
Prepare for long-term care costs
Prepare for market uncertainties
Prepare for leaving an inheritance
Investing involves risk. Depending on the type of investment, there may be varying degrees of risk. Clients and prospective clients should be prepared to bear investment loss, including loss of original principal.
